Résumé

Business model innovation has been acknowledged as important for Swiss and global SMEs in order to create and sustain competitive advantage in rapidly changing business settings. However, little empirical and theoretical advancement have been made toward the understanding of business model innovation’ antecedents and firm outcomes. This research aims to distinguish between realized and potential business model innovation, a model outlining how a firm’s business model can differently influence the creation and sustenance of competitive advantage.
