In 2010, an ambitious collaboration between academia and industry was launched as a part of the EU FP7 project LOVE, with the aim to investigate the generation of electricity by recovering waste heat at temperatures below 120°C, focussing on the cement sector as test case. We look at the key lessons learned from this period.
