Modern slavery figures among the worst plights affecting today’s society, and is included in the United Nations (UN) 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Although corporate buyers are auditing their supply chains, academics believe these processes to be insufficient. Several technological improvements have been discussed in the academic literature, sometimes in conceptual manners, but practitioners and academics are lacking a consolidated view of the different technologies and options available. This paper, through a literature review, seeks to discuss these technologies and bring to light their opportunities as well as risks.
