In the past, many objects in the collection of the
National Museum of Slovenia were severely damaged due to electrolytic/electrochemical cleaning. In the early 1990s, the decision was made to abandon this kind of treatment due to its harshness, although at the time important developments in electrolytic/electrochemical
cleaning were underway in Europe that used
stricter control parameters such as cathodic potentials determined by voltammetry.
