Brushless permanent-magnet synchronous motor with magnetization and demagnetization of magnets during operation

The new synchronous machines that magnetize and demagnetize their magnets during operation, via short pulses of current, make it possible to envisage improving energy efficiency and expanding the operating range of the torque-speed characteristic. The special properties of these machines offer interesting perspectives on different topologies of motors and generators.
