Energetic simulation of DC railway micro-grid interconnecting with PV solar panels, EV charger infrastructures and electrical railway network

This work tends to exploit the existing DC infrastructures to integrate the photovoltaic solar panels and Electrical Vehicles (EVs) charger infrastructures along with public transportation lines (tramways and trolleys). Moreover, the braking energy of tramway is recovered to charge the EVs nearby. An energetic simulation model of the urban DC railway micro-grid is established by using the Energetic Macroscopic Representation. The energy management strategy is formulated by defining three operation modes. Different types of average dynamic models are studied and compared in respect to the energy management study. The critical simulation results are provided and analysed in order to verify the controls and the management strategy.
