Résumé
This article aims to contribute to the history of feminisms in Switzerland. To this
end, we look back at three important moments of recent and contemporary history.
First of all, we relate the long road that led to the acquisition of political rights at
the federal level in 1971. Secondly, we discuss the first women's strike movement
in 1991 and its connection to the 2019 feminist and women's strike. The latter
event contributed in particular to a renewed interest in the feminist cause and thus
to the strengthening or creation of feminist associations. The last part is therefore
devoted to these contemporary feminist movements. Based on discussions with a
dozen Swiss feminist groups, this overview underlines the richness and liveliness of
the feminist milieu, both in its local roots and its transnational links, and points to its
strong potential for disruption at the political and social levels.
